Poem to My Reflection

Poem to My Reflection

Who are you, my reflection, to not rise?

To not fulfil that for which you are destined?

Will you bear your truth, like nature in spring,

To show humanity your lessons?

Observe the rhythm of the breath,

The continual exchange, in balance.

As we seek eternal existence, the chest

Rises and falls like civilisations; making gradual progress.

Because within cycles of time, each fragment begins to see

That coming into being from the source, as energy

We are embodied to experience separation

And grow to rediscover unity.

Different lamp, same light.

Do you remember?

Luminous since conception though the flame may flicker,

We shed the old like leaves in September.

But the seasons have turned.

Awaken from your hibernation.

Remember eternity, where we were indivisible.

Free within the whole, no need for education.

Now, like the flowering rose, it’s time to flourish,

And embrace the magnificence of creation.

All life seeks to grow and expand, to nourish

Through shared connection, the human sensation.

This heart beating entwined with yours

To the rhythm of some divine intelligence.

We are the same, from the same seed.

Different expressions of the universe speaking with eloquence.

So listen, with eyelids shut, the silence can be deafening.

But can you hear the symphony?

Resounding harmony, the separation lessening,

Union permeating through every inhalation.

Like the breath we’ve fallen, but now we rise,

Soaring stars scattered across the skies.

Speak your truth, it will be grasped one day.

Stand in your power brothers and sisters, with your radiance on display.
